Sherrie Prebor Sentell - Raymore, MO I was blessed to know Larry as a childhood friend on up into high school.  Our lives would then cross paths after college when he and my husband ended up in the same Infantry Officers Basic Course class at Fort Benning, GA.  Our lives would then parallel from military post to military post for the next 13 years.  My family and his not only had the comradery of being military, but there was also a bond that the four of us shared of a small town in North Carolina…Moravian Falls.  I can attest to the man Larry Bauguess was.  Larry was proud of being a Christian, proud to be a husband to one of the kindest ladies I know, proud to be a father of two sweet little girls, and proud to be a soldier.

Major Jason Pardue - Fort Jackson, SC I first met Larry through ROTC while we were in college at Appalachian. Larry was fun loving, motivated and full of life. We had a great time during those years but soon enough we all went our separate ways. Larry and I saw each other when we could but not as much as we would have liked. We would always call each other to give updates on what military school or exotic location we had gone to. Larry, Wesley and the girls spent the 4th of July 2004 with me and my family at Lake Kerr Scott and we all had a blast. That was the last time I saw Larry and what a great way to remember him, playing with his girls with that irrepressible "Larry" grin on his face. I think of Larry everyday and know that the world was a better place with him in it. I will always miss you Bro! "Airborne"

Summer Lynn Watts - Yellow Springs, OH To all of Larry's sweet, sweet, family; My heart is broken to know that your family has had to sacrifice such a great man as Larry. I know in his heart that he brought great Honor, Character and Dignity to the job that he chose to do, just so he could protect his 'own' and his homeland. Family please take pride in knowing Larry was doing exactly what he saw as his duty to his country. What a privilege to have grown up with such a good friend and what fond memories I have of the fun times we had at WCHS' 89. There were always lots of smiles and laughter when Larry was there. In Christian love always.

Major Toby Moore - Peachtree City, GA I feel truly blessed to have had Larry as one of my friends and comrades. I will always remember the times as cadets at ASU and the times our paths crossed in the Army. Larry was a great friend and a true warrior. I will miss him greatly. Please know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers. He will be truly missed.

Michelle Robinson - Ft. Hood, TX Major Bauguess was my husband's Commander when he was in the 509th at Fort Polk, LA. Since then, my husband has been deployed twice to Iraq, once as a Commander of a Troop, himself. On the many occasions that I have asked my husband about his leadership style, he has ALWAYS credited Major Bauguess as being one of the very most influential Commanders that he has ever had. Major Bauguess taught my husband an enormous amount of what he needed to know to keep himself and his soldiers safe in Iraq, and about the kind of Commander and soldier that my husband wanted to be.

Donna Carlton Harris - Raleigh, NC My last personal encounter with Larry and Wesley was at our high school class reunion where he sat across the table from my husband and me. He wore a smile the whole night as he spoke about the love he had for his wife and daughters. The smile was not unusual for Larry and I was blessed to have known him. Continue to talk about him and keep the memory of such a wonderful person alive. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Maj Bruce Bennard - Brampton, NC United Kingdom Larry was a great leader, friend and human being who will be sorely missed by all who he had contact with. It has been years since I saw Larry but I’ll never forget the day I got recycled from Ranger School and he drove down to the school, picked me up and did all he could to lift my shattered spirits. It was just one of many examples of what a great person Larry was. I am just glad to have known him. Wesley and family, the prayers and sentiments of me and my family are with you during this difficult time. God bless you.

April Canter Greenwood - Winston-Salem, NC Several years ago, Larry and Wesley came to my 5th grade classroom to teach us about Saudi Arabia and a bit about military life. I vividly remember Larry using words like “honor, dedication, support and love” in reference to serving our country. For those of us who have known Larry Bauguess for many years, we know these words affected his every action. Whether it was pitching for his baseball team, working on a project for student council or helping a friend, those same words-honor, dedication, support and love- always applied for Larry. I feel very blessed that all of my fondest memories of high school involved this generous, thoughtful man.
